מִי שֶׁבֵּרַךְ אֲבוֹתֵינוּ אַבְרָהָם יִצְחָק וְיַעֲקֹב, וְאִמּוֹתֵינוּ שָׂרָה רִבְקָה רָחֵל וְלֵאָה, וְרִפֵּא אֶת מִרְיָם הַנְּבִיאָה וְחִזְקִיָּהוּ מֶלֶךְ יְהוּדָה וְנַעֲמָן שַׂר־צְבָא אֲרָם וּמֵי מָרָה וְסִיר אֱלִישָׁע – הוּא יְבָרֵךְ וְיִשְׁמֹר וִיחַזֵּק וְיַעְזֵר אֶת הַחוֹבְשִׁים וְאֶת הָאֲחָיוֹת וְאֶת הָרוֹפְאִים וְאֶת כׇּל הַפּוֹעֲלִים בִּתְחוּם הָרְפוּאָה וְהַטִּפּוּל הַמְּחָרְפִים נַפְשָׁם לְהַצָּלַת חַיֵּי בְּרִיּוֹתָיו בְּעָמְדָם בֵּין הַמֵּתִים וּבֵין הַחַיִּים (לפי במדבר יז:יג) לַעֲצֹר אֶת הַמַּגֵּפָה.	May the One who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah; who healed Miriam the Prophet,^[1]Numbers 12 Hezekiah King of Judah,^[2]2 Kings 2:20. Naaman the Aramean General,^[3]2 Kings 2:5. and the waters of Marah^[4]Exodus 15 and Elisha’s pottage;^[5]2 Kings 2:4. bless, guard, strengthen, and embolden the emergency responders, the nurses, and the doctors, and all those who work in the field of medicine and treatment who risk their lives to save the lives of human beings, Gd’s creations, standing between the living and the dead^[6]cf. Numbers 17:13. to stop the plague.

Numbers 12:13. in the hearts and minds of all the scientists and researchers to find a remedy for this plague, and please, bestow a spirit of loyalty and compassion upon the leaders of all states to preserve the peace of nations and the health of peoples – so that all of us may merit to behold that day when all inhabitants of the Earth will dwell in safety, and the Earth will be full of the knowledge of Hashem as water fills the seas.^[12]Isaiah 11:9. Stephen Belsky

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Stephen Belsky is a graduate of the Yeshiva of Flatbush, the State University of New York at Binghamton, and the Educators Program of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. He received semikha at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and while studying there held internships at Beth David Synagogue in West Hartford, Connecticut, and the International Rabbinic Fellowship. Before starting semikha, Stephen taught at the Schechter high school in Teaneck, New Jersey, and after ordination, he returned to education, teaching Jewish Studies in the middle and high school divisions of Yeshivat Akiva in Southfield, Michigan. In addition to classroom teaching, Stephen has taught and lectured both in his local community and in synagogues across the eastern United States.
